I’ve spent fifteen years inside organizations where people are the whole point — and watched those same organizations quietly use people up.
I led teams at Starbucks, Intuit, Omni Hotels and the Houstonian before serving as a team leader at one of the fastest-growing churches in America. I founded and run The WellHouse Family Services, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has served over 90 families through coaching, counseling, financial literacy and entrepreneurship support.
I hold a Master of Arts in Executive Leadership and Management from Liberty University, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston, and my mental health coaching credentials from Light University.
What all of that taught me is that burnout is almost never a character problem. It’s a structural one. Organizations chase their mission with everything they have and forget that the people carrying it are finite. Then the best person on the team leaves and nobody can say exactly why.
I’ve seen how beautiful the church can be. I’ve also seen what it does to people when it goes wrong. Both of those are why I do this work.
So I help organizations build cultures their people can survive — clear roles, real support for volunteers, honest conversations about capacity, protocols for when someone is in crisis. And I sit one-on-one with the people already carrying too much, because structures take time to change and the person in front of me can’t always wait.
